As a student at Grand Canyon University, I had the opportunity to experience the academic calendar for the 2020-21 school year. While it was a year filled with unexpected challenges due to the pandemic, GCU handled the situation with grace and flexibility. In this article, I will dive deeper into the GCU academic calendar for that year and share my personal experience.

The GCU academic calendar for the 2020-21 year consisted of two 16-week semesters, with a break in between for the holiday season. The fall semester began on August 24, 2020, and ended on December 12, 2020. The spring semester started on January 11, 2021, and concluded on May 1, 2021. There were also several holidays and breaks throughout the year, including Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Spring Break.

One of the most exciting aspects of the GCU academic calendar is the variety of events and festivals that take place throughout the year. Some of the highlights from the 2020-21 calendar include:

Details of Events and Festivals Celebration for GCU Academic Calendar 2020-21

While all of the events and festivals on the GCU academic calendar are fun and exciting, I particularly enjoyed Ignite Week. It was a great way to start off the semester and get to know other students on campus. There were free concerts each night featuring popular Christian artists, and during the day, there were games and activities all over campus. One of my favorite parts was the outdoor movie night, where we watched a movie on a giant screen under the stars.

Another event that stood out to me was Lopesgiving. As an international student, I was unable to travel home for Thanksgiving, so I was grateful for the opportunity to celebrate with other students on campus. GCU provided a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and there were games and activities to keep us entertained throughout the day.
